In partnership with facility analytics provider, Datakwip, EMAT provided an ASHRAE Level 2 energy audit of a medical facility in the Washington, DC metro area.  The 1.2 million square foot facility consisted of eight buildings and was a combination of office, daycare, lab, and manufacturing space.

Global Financial Organization Headquarters

Audit Description

EMAT completed an ASHRAE Level 2 energy audit of the headquarters for a major global financial organization in Washington, DC.  The 880,000 square foot facility was constructed in 2005 and consisted of one building and a parking garage. The building was 700,000 square feet and consisted of primarily office space, with large portions of the building devoted to a data center and a kitchen.

Major Medical Research and Health Care Facility

Audit Description

EMAT completed an ASHRAE Level 2 energy audit of a major medical research and health care building in Houston, Texas.  The 1.4 million square foot building was constructed in 2011 and consisted of three primary sections.  The first section was 19 stories and constructed mainly of double pane glass.  The second section was 25 stories and also constructed mainly of double pane glass.  Both the first and second sections were primarily office space.  The third primary section was a three-story meeting center and was constructed of brick.  In addition, there was a large data center on-site that was responsible for servicing the building as well as other buildings on the same campus.

Energy efficiency was a primary focus when this building was constructed, which was evidenced by the building receiving an ENERGY STAR® Score of 88, well above the threshold for certification. Particular attention had to be paid to this building during the on-site portion of the audit and subsequent analysis to identify potential energy savings.

Audit Description
